In connection with Association Inauguration, the Department of mathematics of sacred heart college,Thevara conducted a seminar on the topic “FROM SHUNYA TO ZERO” on 10 th October 2022 at 2.00 pm in Marian Hall. The common gathering began with a prayer. The gathering was anchored by Abhishek N (II nd DC Maths). The formal welcome speech was delivered by Dr Jeenu Kurian, Head of Department of Mathematics.The crowd was addressd by Rev.Fr Jose John CMI, Principal of Sacred Heart College Thevara.
The speaker of the day, Dr Sabu M C ,Head of Department of Mathematics, St Albert College engaged the section. The session began with thought provoking question which was mean to analysis knowledge about Indian Mathematician. The first modern equivalent of the numeral zero comes from a Hindu astronomer and mathematician Brahmagupta in 628. Hespeaks about the importance of zero. He also presents the symbol to depict the zero in ancient period.he explain the role of Aryabhatta in discovering zero. He covered a wide range of topics .The lecture was well attended by faculty members,UG and PG students of Mathematical Department .
The event was concluded after delivering vote of thanks by Abhishek N at 3.35 pm. After the session the fresher day celebration started at 4.00 pm. A small token of gift have presented to Dr Sabu MC by Principal Rev.Fr Jose John CMI.
